Completing this Sketch Series is Genoa’s very own Giovanni Simeone. Having arrived in Genova this Summer, Simeone has done well to impose himself at the heart of the team’s mechanisms, just like his Samp counter-part Patrik Schick.
Very differently from Schick, however, Simeone hasn’t caught the eye for his elegance and silkiness. Instead, he has made his Argentine ‘Garra’ his major strength, scoring an impressive 10 league goals – not bad for a Serie A debutant.
Like his father before him, El Cholito has taken Italy by storm, by means of his palpable passion and goal-scoring instinct. Aficionados of Il Grifone are hoping to see more of that in today’s clash against their eternal rivals. Like the great Bomber Tomáš Skuhravý, or his fellow Argentine Diego Milito, Simeone’s aim is to rule of the Genoan Derby.
To read more about Genoa’s starlet, we profiled Simeone in our ‘Grande 50’ series earlier this year.
