The Gentleman Ultra has evolved massively over the years. In its formative days, the website focused mainly on Italy’s ultra movement, exploring the complexities of the notorious fans who are cherished and reviled in equal measure. Today, the website encompasses all aspects of calcio: from tifosi and presidenti, to giocatori and reti.

To celebrate our relaunch in December 2017, we asked 15 of our most prolific writers to nominate their favourite TGU piece. We then conducted a social media poll to determine which composition you, our dedicated readers, felt worthy of the top spot.
